Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Workplace (QCF)

Previously known as the Assessors Award, the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Workplace is ideal for candidates who are qualified hairdressers, who are enthusiastic about supporting trainees in their workplace. By becoming an assessor, you will be able to help trainees get through their training and potentially speed up their learning process. Once this qualification is complete, the candidate is qualified to practically assess any student within their salon who is on an Apprenticeship programme.

The requirements of this programme are that the candidate can demonstrate and produce evidence of:

  • Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
  • Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

Do I need to have teaching experience?

No. You do not need teaching experience, but an enthusiasm for learning and helping others to learn is essential. You will also need to hold NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing, and either NVQ Level 3 or five-years salon experience.

Can I get funding for my training?

Unfortunately, there is no Government funding available. Our courses have been custom designed to meet the VTCT standards, and while we are unable to secure funding for your training, we can guarantee that you will receive the best possible value for money when you pay for your course.

How can I pay?

This is a self-funded qualification, and the cost to enrol is £300.00. This covers the cost of registration, training and certification, and the option to pay in instalments is available. We will require a minimum payment of £100 to secure your place on the course and the remaining fees must be paid by the end of your training (regrettably all monies paid are non-refundable).

How long will it take to achieve?

There are just two contact sessions that you will need to attend; the rest of the qualification is one-to-one appointment based, which affords you maximum flexibility. We anticipate completion for all candidates within six months.

When will I get my certificate?

Once you have completed the course criteria, your evidence will be passed to one of our internal verifiers. They will confirm that all requirements are present and correct and will pass your completion date to the registration and certification team. Your award will be promptly claimed for, and we will contact you when it arrives at our office for you to collect.
